The Faculty of Liberal Arts organized a debate competition “If I were the Prime Minister”. It had three rounds in which 97 students partook from all the faculties of the university. The first and second round aimed at not only finding potential speakers but also focused upon polishing their qualities, general awareness and confidence.16 students were selected to compete in the second round out of which 4 passed the two stringent phases of the tough competition. Akash Sunar emerged as the winner whereas Ashiq Hamid secured the second position and were presented with a glittering trophy and received applause and appreciation of the audience. The presence of the faculty and students was the real source of motivation for the participants. The jury was glad to see the excitement and passion amid students and urged to arrange such competitions on a regular basis.
