The education arm of the Institute of Indian Foundry men (IIF), Chandigarh Chapter organized their first ever clinical service to foundry industry at GNA University, Phagwara. It was organized by the Corporate Engagement Division of University and was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor, Mr Gurdeep Singh Sihra.
The clinic was divided into two sessions and was attended by 70 foundry men across the region who came prepared with their both normal and special problems. The first session was based upon a deliberation by Mr Manish Kothari from Anand Ahmedabad, who advocated a judicious design of environmentally friendly recipe of used sand and blending with fresh one. This was followed by 45 minutes brainstorming discussion. The panel members included Prof P Thareja, Mr R.K Mehta and others.
The second session on specialized services was addressed by Dr P C Maity and Mr Anil Kullar. The panelist of this session comprised of Mr Balraj Seth, Mr Jagmohan Sharma and other speakers. The session of innovative event was masterminded by Dr V P Gupta and team of foundry consultants of foundry clinic. Mr Tapan Bhoumik, Convenor of IFC and IFEX Kolkata spoke of the Tata Model for support of foundry industry. Earlier Prof P Thareja spoke of the potential of foundry industry vis- VI’s forging.
Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Pro-Chancellor congratulated all foundry men for creating recognized team of foundry mem towards improving industry’s competitiveness. Mr Sunil Sarad and CR Tripathy from GNA University also participated in the discussion. Mr Vinay Luthra gave the customary vote of thanks.
