Faculty of Hospitality, GNA University celebrated National Nutrition Week 2017. On September 1st 2017, Students of B.Sc Hotel management were taken to Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar, where Dr.Vaishali, Chief Dietician, PIMS demonstrated live examples and make students aware of good nutritional practices. Dr Harvinder Singh, Head ENT department educated students on the adverse effects of Mobile phone uses.
A session on Nutrition was arranged for senior citizens of Phagwara, JCI Clubs, and Academies where Chef Varinder Singh Rana, Dean Faculty of Hospitality and Chef Dhiraj Pathak gave demonstration on Food Adulteration in ingredients and educated them about good nutritional food habits.
On 5th September 2017 Nutritional food menu competition and poster making competition was held for the students of Faculty of Hospitality. Mrs Jasleen Sihra, Pro Chancellor, GNA University showed her presence as Chief Guest. Professor (Dr) Subashini Verma, PAU and Dr. Anuradha were also interacted with the students and shared their thoughts on Nutrition.
Mr Gurdeep Singh Shira, Pro-chancellor GNA University also marked their auspicious presence and motivated the students. Dr. Prem Kumar, Vice Chancellor encouraged the efforts of Faculty of Hospitality. Prizes were distribute amongst winners. Chef Varinder Singh Rana, Dean, Faculty of Hospitality, conveyed the vote of thanks.
