GNA University supported the C-Negative movement of Environmentalist Mr Arvind Mishra (A Guinness World Record Holder)
Mr. Arvind Mishra, a #Mechanical Engineer and Environmentalist who is on Trans India cycling campaign for creating environment #awareness visited #GNAUniversity, Phagwara on February 24th, 2017. GNA University dignitaries and NSS Volunteers welcomed and greeted him at the entrance of GNA University. Mr Mishra also holds a Guinness World Record for giving the longest marathon lecture on Scientific Computations, which lasted 139 hours and 42 minutes. He interacted with students and planted 11 saplings at University #Campus. He mentioned that he started his journey from New Delhi on February 19th, 2017 and has plan to cover 10,000 km in 6 months by connecting nearly 300 universities, corporate houses, communities, and individuals through his ‘travel and talk’ campaign across the country to launch his C-Negative movement that will assist individuals and organisations in taking responsibility for their carbon footprint and drastically reducing it. Mr. Varinder Singh Rana, Program Officer, NSS along with volunteers supported Mr. Mishra’s campaign by providing their digital signatures on C-Negative web link.
Mr Sunil Sarad, Registrar, GNA University praised the C-Negative movement and appealed GNA University faculty and students to make themselves self-conscious and convert them into carbon negative citizens. Prof (Dr) Prem Kumar, Honourable Vice Chancellor GNA University appreciated the visit of Mr Arvind Mishra at GNA University Campus and congratulate him to become a true inspiration for youth to think for sustainability. Mr. CR Tripathy, Dean FDI, Mr Sameer Varma, Assistant Dean, Academic Outreach, Mr Pawan Kumar, Mr Suresh Kumar and Mr Amandeep Singh Ahluwalia were also presented during plantation.
