With the aim to help students in learning the art of applying theoretical concepts into real practices ‘Punjab Commerce Olympiad 2016’ was organized by GNA University in association with Punjab Commerce and Management Association (PCMA) at GNA University, Phagwara.
The Olympiad expected to cater a large number of students helping them to get exposed to the cut-throat competition that lies ahead in their career. This competition was opened for school students currently studying in classes 11th and 12th were eligible to partake in the event. Around 70 teams from 40 schools from different districts of Punjab actively partook in the event.The winners showcased their skills and expertise and raised the level of the competition. The audience was dazzled and spellbound by their knowledge. The chief guest of the event was Mr. S. S. Bhogal, Punjab Chairman, CII and Dr. Ashwani Bhalla (Secretary, PCMA) was the Guest of Honour and Jury and other higher dignitaries of university such as S. Gursaran Singh Sihra (Hon’ble Chancellor), S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra(Pro-Chancellor), Dr. Prem Kumar (Vice Chancellor) Mr. Sunil Sarad(Registrar), Mr. Sameer Varma, Ms. Monika Hanspal, Mr. C. R. Tripathy and Mr. Rajan Dhir graced the event with their gracious presence. The winner teams were MGN Public School, Jalandhar bagged the first position with a stupendous cash award of Rs 21,000, a winning trophy and an individual memento. British Olivia School, Jalandhar and Swami Sant Das Public School, Phagwara secured second and third prize winning Rs. 11,000 and Rs. 51, 00 with trophies respectively.The Punjab Commerce Olympiad was a gala success.
